Our Story

The Lambs Today

The Lambs—a private social club with accommodations for the exclusive use of its members and guests—has been part of the fabric of New York City for nearly 150 years. We are a vibrant club in a landmark clubhouse next to Rockefeller Center in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, within walking distance of the city’s major attractions and mass transit. (We are not a similarly named theme bar in Times Square.)

Members have access to the Club’s semi-private restaurant and bar and an extensive social calendar for all interests. Our Clubhouse is lined with spectacular artwork going back to the 19th century that shows our deep ties to theatrical history. The Lambs has three Steinway pianos, three beautifully appointed rehearsal rooms, quiet places to work and hold small meetings, and a cozy billiards and chess room. The Club has access to 26 hotels rooms for members’ overnight use.

Lambs members range in age from 21 to 101, and we are immensely proud of our diversity and community spirit. Members make friendships at The Lambs that they keep for life. We have an active membership that takes part in Clubhouse events every week, from live music to professional development in the arts and entertainment. Our dues and initiation fees are among the most reasonable of any New York City private social club. The Lambs has no "minimum spend" at our restaurant and bar, and no assessments of any type.
