Member Classes

The actual category of membership shall be determined by the Admissions Committee. These are the Membership Categories. If you wish to inquire about membership at The Lambs, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to receive a membership application.

  • Theatrical
    • This class shall include such persons who engage their services professionally as actors, singers, playwrights, novelists, artists, sculptors, entertainers, composers, musical artists, conductors and arrangers, producers, designers (costumes, lighting, sets), choreographers, theatrical managers and agents, theatrical treasurers, advance agents and press agents, directors (stage, radio, film, television), stage managers, broadcast announcers and commentators, stage hands, wardrobe masters, sound engineers, craft technicians, journalists, and critics.

  • Junior Theatrical
    • A subcategory of the Theatrical class for members under the age of 40. The annual dues and initiation fees are considerably reduced. Members of this category pay the full dues rate the year of their 40th birthday.

  • Patron
    • This class shall include persons who are not engaged in any of the professions or vocations specified for qualification as Theatrical members. The Club limits the percentage of this class to no more than 30% of its total membership.

  • Non-Resident
    • A discounted membership for those members with a legal residence of more than 50 miles from Columbus Circle, and not having a permanent residence or office for the transaction of business within the City of New York. This reduction only applies to Theatrical, Patron, and Clergy rates. Does not apply to initiation fee calculation.

  • Clergy
    • This class shall include any ordained cleric of a religious faith who is currently engaged in such a profession.

  • Associate
    • This class is reserved for full-time college students enrolled in the study of film, theater, drama, music, dance, or writing. Requires a letter of recommendation from a department chair or dean.

  • Armed Services
    • This class shall include personnel of the Armed Services of the United States on active duty. They shall not vote or hold office or have any title or interest in the assets of the Club.

  • Life Membership
    • First created by the Council in October 1888. Life Membership may be purchased by members with five (5) years of consecutive membership at ten (10) times the highest annual dues. Requires Council approval.
