The Lambs, Inc., has been commonly known as The Lambs Club for nearly 150 years. We are America’s first professional theatrical club, organized in New York City in 1874 and incorporated on May 10, 1877. During our nearly 150-year history, The Lambs ® has had 14 homes, among them a clubhouse at 130 West 44th Street in Manhattan designed by the architect Stanford White and built in 1905. The Lambs flourished at this clubhouse, producing many plays and programs rising into prominence within American theater history, and leaving an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

The Lambs ® vacated the West 44th Street clubhouse in 1975 and has since resided at 3 West 51st Street in Manhattan, where it remains a vibrant and active theater club.

After The Lambs ® left, the Stanford White building was occupied by the Church of the Nazarene and a small theater for 25 years. The building has since been gutted and remodeled and is now the Chatwal Hotel, which contains a restaurant/bar called The Lambs Club Restaurant. As per agreement, the restaurant is required to clearly post a disclaimer in its facility and on all advertisements, printed or electronic, stating clearly that it is not The Lambs ®. Any claims otherwise -- printed, implied, or stated -- are false.

The Lambs, Inc., is not the Lambs Theater nor related to the Church of the Nazarene or its Manhattan Initiative, nor any other religious organization, nor to the Lamb’s Players Theatre of San Diego.

The Lambs Foundation, Inc., is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity since 1943, and is not related to the Church of the Nazarene or any of its charitable groups, including its Friends of the Lambs, nor is it related to the similar-sounding ‘The Lamb Foundation.’
